Q6947

Hello,

We're building a house and are in the granite selection process for our kitchen. We saw a granite at wholesaler Intercontinental Marble & Granite in Tampa, FL that they call "Golden Lightning" that we like and are considering.  I did a quick search on Yahoo to find more information and  found "Golden Lightning" granite the topic of question "Q 6947" on your web site.  Attached is a photo we took of the "Golden Lightning" slab at the wholesaler. We like the "veining" look of this "granite".

I'm curious about the response that "Golden Lightning" is not granite and that "true geological granite doesn't have any veining".   Where does this definition come from?  Also, based on the photo, what is your opinion of what type of stone this "Golden Lightning" is?
