Baltic Brown Granite

I have a few questions for you about our new baltic brown countertops. Our installer pieced two pieces of granite together to form our backsplash. It is obvious that the pieces were adhered together. The crack was filled with a black material, and it is visible, and can be felt when you rub your hand over the area. Can this be repaired?
Also, we had a stainless steel undermount sink installed, however our installer did not use brackets to support the sink. He used silicone and some apoxy and said that it would never come loose. Is this true?
Our granite was sealed upon installation. Was this advisable??
Thanks.
