Tumbled Marble Backspash

I am considering tumbled marbe for my kitchen backslash.  Countertop is granite.  However, I have heard marble is prone to staining especially if you slash things like tomato sause.  A place that sells both tumble marble and porcelein told me if I cook a lot, use porcelein.  What do you think?
