Another bad seam on polished granite

Our new granite counter top was installed 2 weeks ago in our U shaped kitchen. Granite is Golden Sky and everything is beautiful except for 1 seam. There are 2 seams, one in each corner. The one on the right corner is beautiful with a 1" return and it joins 2 parts of the same slab. The problem is the seam on the left which joins the back wall and a large peninsula.

Hope you can see the pictures. Not sure how to insert them from PhotoBucket

The top rounded edge of the penisula slab on the right extends about 1/2 inch too far past the corner where the edges are supposed to meet so that there is a gap at that juncture. The installer put a "blob" of epoxy to fill it in which promply fell off after 2 days. They returned to try again, but it does not look better. The epoxy on the front edge vertical seam has just come off. The whole seam is wide and not flat.

It is a short seam that goes straight for about 9" and turns left for 2" to end at the beam.

I do not know if it was the template, the fabricator, or the installer (all same company) that is the source of the problem. Is there any advice about a solution? I dread having the peninsula removed and replaced.

They are coming tomorrow for another service call. Thanks for any suggestions.   findstone2009-08-22 11:53:24
